Under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister, Engineer Mohammed Shia’a Al-Sudani, and within the framework of the National Youth Development Initiative, in cooperation with the Supreme Council for Youth and the Department of Non-Governmental Organizations, the Sustainable Green Programs and Documents Volunteer Team in Anbar Governorate conducted a comprehensive introductory workshop.

The workshop aimed to equip participants with the knowledge and skills required to prepare, analyze, and utilize official documents that support sustainable programs and community policies. Participants explored the essential steps for creating documents that guide small sustainable projects, volunteer programs, and initiatives in climate action.

Additionally, the workshop highlighted key national and international achievements, providing participants with a deep understanding of Iraq’s legal and policy frameworks in economic and environmental development. Reviewed materials included:

• The Five-Year National Development Plan, approved in 2024

• National Policy for Energy Support and Emissions Reduction, approved in 2023

• Third National Plan for Women, Peace, and Security, in accordance with UN Resolution 1325, approved in 2025

• Principles of International Environmental Governance

• United Nations Guidance Note for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals

Through this workshop, participants gained practical insights into leveraging government documents to design effective programs, integrate international standards, and contribute meaningfully to sustainability initiatives within their communities.
